A quick view of Viking Mythology

According to Nordic mythology, in the beginning there was a big dark emptiness and from this abyss emerged two realms of existence, one full of fire and another frozen and cold. These two realms clashed and the heat of the first melted parts of the second. From the water drops emerged life and the first was Ymir, a giant who was eventually killed by Odin and his brothers. The Earth was created from his remains:
The blood became the oceans, rivers, and lakes.
The flesh became the land.
The bones became the mountains.
The teeth were made into rocks.
The hair became the grass and trees.
The eyelashes became Midgard (a.k.a. Earth).
Sounds like a magical world, right? Norse mythology comes from several sources such as the Poetic Edda and the Prose Edda, written in traditional Old Norse poetry. From these texts we discover a rich world of powerful gods and magical beings like elves and dwarfs.
One of the most famous gods is Thor, a human-protecting thunder-god. Then there is Odin, a god associated with wisdom, healing, sorcery, poetry and the runic alphabet. His wife, Frigg, was a paragon of beauty, love and fertility. There is also the mischievous Loki, a god that could shape-shift and had an ambivalent relationship with other gods, sometimes as friend and at other times as foe.
Many of the gods are said to live in Asgard, the home to the Aesir tribe of gods.
There are countless adventures between people and gods in the rich literature of Nordic mythology, which continues to inspire people around the world even today.

The number 7 is also unique from a mathematical point of view. It is the largest prime number between the numbers 1 and 10. (A prime number is a number that is divisible only by itself and 1.)
Popular culture has also played a role in boosting the popularity of the number 7. It is famously the code number for James Bond and Walt Disney chose to have 7 dwarfs for Snow White.
Many ancient societies have worshipped the number 7, so perhaps there is something magical about this number. It is therefore a great boon that our latest game is all about the number 7!

Cleopatra is one of the immortal figures in world history. She remains one of the first few female rulers in the world, along with Kubaba (Queen of Sumer) and a handful of powerful women that ruled in Egypt prior to Cleopatra’s time.

Cleopatra was actually Cleopatra VII. We rarely talk about the other six Cleopatras, which include the original Cleopatra, who was Alexander the Great’s sister.

She is famous for having liaisons with powerful Roman men like Caesar and Marcus Antonius. But don’t think she was seduced by these influential men; on the contrary, Cleopatra was an important and powerful woman whose clever power politics may have contributed in her relationships with these men.

Cleopatra was in Rome at the time of Caesar’s assassination.

Cleopatra was not just a savvy ruler but also a writer. She wrote a treatise titled ‘Cosmetics’, but it wasn’t something like a Cosmo article about makeup; it was a book with medical remedies for conditions such as dandruff and hair loss.

Cleopatra made a bet against Marcus Antonius, when she boasted that she could host the most expensive dinner in history. To win the bet, she simply took one of the pearls from her earrings and dissolved it in a glass of vinegar and wine, before gulping it down!

The Egyptian Queen is often depicted in film and art as a beautiful woman, but reports from her contemporaries state that her looks were not particularly striking. However, she is said to be a great conversationalist and had a great character which gave her presence an irresistible charm.
